Las Vegas is renowned as the lively, pumping heart of the American mid-West. With more casinos per capita than any other city on earth, Las Vegas is the gambling capital of the world. For those that don’t care for gambling there are plenty of other pastimes to keep you occupied during a stay in what is affectionately known as “Sin City”.

If it’s retail therapy you’re into, there are several shopping malls between McCarran Airport and the Stratosphere. There is also a huge choice of entertainment with musical and magic shows (including Cirque du Soleil shows) as well as fine art galleries, museums and some of the best dining establishments in the United States. Some hotels feature their own complimentary shows including the world-famous musical fountains at Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage and Circus acts at Circus Circus. The nightlife is second to none with a wonderful array of discos and clubs to choose from.

If you prefer more of an adrenaline rush during your “vacation”, there are rollercoasters, motorsports experiences, indoor skydiving, helicopter tours of The Strip at dusk as well as light aircraft and helicopter tours to nearby sights such as the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Please contact us for details of available tours and to book Maverick Aviation and Papillon Helicopters.
There is also a huge range of activities in the local area including golf courses, spas and amusement arcades. There is even an historic downtown Las Vegas tour with the Fremont Street Experience and the Golden Nugget casino. For those looking to get married, take your pick from a wide selection of Wedding Chapels - some even offer a “drive-thru” option for those in a hurry!

Lake Las Vegas offers much more of a peaceful setting for those keen to escape the hustle & bustle of life on the Las Vegas strip.

Las Vegas enjoys superb weather year round with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. The difference between winter and summer in Las Vegas is that in the winter (Nov – Feb), temperatures drop and if you’re planning an evening stroll down The Strip, it’s recommended to take a light jacket or cardigan. Humidity isn’t normally a problem either – the desert environment creates a dry heat, meaning that even when it’s at it’s hottest between Jun – Aug, the temperatures aren’t restrictive.

Las Vegas, infamously, offers plenty of wedding options and depending on what you’re looking for you could have a beautiful lakeside wedding or a speedy ceremony performed by an Elvis impersonator. All that’s required is a marriage license – pre-application is advised through the Clark County NV website.

Las Vegas McCarran Airport is easily accessible with direct flights from the UK (London daily on Virgin and BA and Manchester twice weekly on Virgin) and with indirect flights available from other regional airports.

Although UK passport holders visiting the USA do not need to obtain a visa, it is required for all travellers to fill out an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). This short questionnaire is similar to a visa waiver form, is valid for 2 years (or until your passport expires) and costs US$14.
