The Residence Mauritius .... A Family Holiday with Style

Prestbury Worldwide Resorts Sales and Marketing Director, Emma Bosworth, returned from a family trip to The Residence Mauritius and was so impressed she couldn’t resist sharing the following write-up.

Having arrived at The Residence Mauritius with our three children aged nine, five and three, we were immediately enchanted by the cathedral like reception and colonial style of the property. After a long flight, we were taken straight to our room for a relaxed check-in.

‘Wow, look at the size of the bathroom!’ called out my eldest as we checked in to our room. Our accommodation was a Colonial Ocean View Suite interconnecting with a Colonial Ocean View Room and we were blown away by the sheer size of the accommodation; two bedrooms, a large living area, a bathroom you could lose yourself in and a lovely big outside terrace. The children (despite being tired!) immediately explored every nook and cranny which over the course of the week became a nightly game of hide and seek it was so big!

A real treat for guests staying at The Residence is the butler service, and whilst we headed out to dinner, our personal butler proceeded to unpack all our cases so all we had to do was put the children to bed and enjoy a glass of wine! Throughout the course of our stay our butler ran us baths and beautifully repacked all our cases (with tissue paper) for the journey home. I have to admit, it was an absolute treat which I really did miss when I got home!

The following morning, with the sun shining, we opened our shutters to be greeted by a magnificent sea view from our balcony. With sun loungers, a dining table and chairs, it was perfect for outdoor living, especially when the children stayed indoors during the midday sun.

After breakfast the two girls (three and five) were keen to try out the hotel’s children’s club. We were greeted by the children’s club staff and left the girls happily making arts and crafts whilst we headed off to the watersports with our nine year old son. Here we enjoyed a morning of kayaking and water skiing all in the capable hands of the watersports team and all complimentary! This pretty much set the tone for the holiday and our week was over far too soon. All in all an excellent family holiday and we can’t wait to return!
