          Escape to The Ritz-Carlton, Abama

Posted in Travel Writing, Tenerife on 19th May 2017

The chic and sophisticated Ritz-Carlton, Abama in Tenerife is a unique and contemporary resort with world class facilities to suit every age.

On a recent visit to the property our Senior European Sales Consultant, Lucy Platt, was smitten from the moment she arrived. This was her first visit to the Abama and she was instantly struck by the impressive golf course that cleverly wound its way up the beautifully landscaped hillside, surrounded by vast banana plantations, endless Palm Trees and stunning ocean views out to the island of La Gomera.

Both keen and amateur players will take to this magnificent par-72 championship course with enthusiasm. Designed by former Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas the 18 hole course is considered one of the toughest in all of Spain featuring challenging holes, sand bunkers, water hazards and waterfalls. It’s fast becoming one of the most sought-after properties for both new and experienced golfers.

After an exhilarating day on the golf course the Club House offers the perfect place to relax with a sun-downer. Alternatively, under the Casa Club Restaurant, sits ‘Kabuki’ one of the two Michelin starred restaurants to be found on the resort. Here guests can enjoy both the exceptional Japanese Fusion cuisine and the stunning views across the fairways and out to the ocean – it’s the perfect place to end a day.

          Why not try…

Tennis enthusiasts will enjoy the breath-taking location of the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy set above the highest point of the golf course. There are in total 7 lit professional-grade tennis courts and 4 paddle courts. Used for ATP and ITF tour matches, the tennis facilities also cater to players of all levels who can enjoy the personalised lessons and coaching programmes available from the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy.
