A Stunning Golf Escape in Mauritius

Posted in Travel Writing, Indian Ocean, Take to the Fairways by Jan Locke on 13th Jun 2017

Calling all keen and amateur golfers seeking what has to be one of the most stunning golf locations in the world.

The Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is a truly impressive property located on the emerald isle of Mauritius. It’s a sporting paradise that stretches over 150 hectares across the spectacular Le Morne Peninsula. Fringed by seven kilometres of protected beaches and a crystal clear lagoon where the Paradis fully embraces its breath-taking views. There are so many striking features about this property, but one outstanding highlight is the stunning golf facilities that deliver a real WOW factor for golfers.

Built within the hotel grounds, the 18-hole championship course stretches along 5,924 metres between the iconic Morne mountain range and the crystal-clear lagoon of the Le Morne peninsula. The fairways and greens curl along the shoreline of a spectacular bay whilst the majestic mountains provide a breath-taking backdrop. The claim that this is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Mauritius is one that is hard to dispute.

          Worth mentioning…

Much of the creative design of the bunkers and fairways can be attributed to international golfing legend Tony Johnstone who spent several years playing the course through its many evolutionary stages. Also worth mentioning is the hotel’s very own golf academy welcoming beginners and seasoned golfers alike. Guests also have the opportunity to play on three other championship golf courses in the vicinity. On a recent visit our Marketing Manager, Jan Locke, put the golf academy to the test and as a complete novice to the sport came back raving not only about the stunning hotel and resort but the fantastic golf coaching she experienced.
