Why our Product Manager loves Mauritius ...

Posted in Travel Writing, Indian Ocean, Take to the Fairways on 10th Dec 2018

Earlier this year, our Indian Ocean Product Manager, Alex Taylor, was invited on an educational visit to the stunning island of Mauritius to experience the fabulous Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels. Here’s what Alex had to say on her return…

When the itinerary arrived detailing everything the educational visit was going to involve, I couldn’t have been more excited! Not only was I going to enjoy stays at some of the most impressive hotels in Mauritius but I would also be lucky enough to experience some of the many activities found at the Beachcomber Resorts. Guests of Beachcomber Resorts can enjoy numerous complimentary activities including waterskiing, windsurfing, archery (*) and tennis to name a few. During my visit I would have the opportunity to enjoy a number of these, however there were two experiences I was most excited about – learning to dive and play golf!

Francois and Christelle Besson – owners of Diving World Mauritius (who run most of the Beachcomber dive centres) offered us a chance to experience a beginner’s sea scuba-dive. After a full safety briefing and practise session in the pool we headed to a dive site for a fully guided dive. Here we discovered a myriad of sea life and beautiful corals, whilst the icing on the cake was witnessing the huge pod of wild dolphins frolicking in the waves.

Mauritius is synonymous with fantastic golf courses and I was delighted to learn that I would have the opportunity to experience the beautiful and challenging course – Mont Choisy Le Golf. Under the guidance of Mauritius’s no 1 female pro, Ginger Delacrétaz – I learnt the basics of golf followed by a stint on the driving range and putting on the custom designed green. It was amazing!

If you’re looking for a luxury hotel with plenty to keep you occupied then  I would highly recommend a stay at a Beachcomber Resort & Hotel.
