Located mid-way between the traditional fishing port of Portimao and the historical town of Lagos, the Penina Golf Resort Hotel is set in its own picturesque 360-acre estate and is extremely popular with golfers, but also appeals to families with a wide range of activities on offer.

The Penina Golf Resort boasts three award-winning golf courses one of which is a championship 18 hole golf course designed by Sir Henry Cotton. Guest rooms are spacious and well appointed with Junior and Grand Suites offering a separate lounge area. Dining is another delight that awaits you with five restaurants to hand ranging from formal to alfresco and Portuguese to Italian. There are also a selection of cocktail lounges and bars to choose from where you can enjoy a well deserved night cap before heading off to bed. Penina Golf Resort does not disappoint when it comes to offering a wide range of services and facilities designed to meet and surpass ones expectations.

Aside from all the golf available there’s a whole host of other sporting amenities to enjoy including five floodlit hard-surface tennis courts. There’s even a FIFA-sized football field (popular with Chelsea football club as part of their winter training sessions!). If jogging is your sporting preference then the three-kilometre jogging circuit with 12 exercise stations along the way is ideal.  Water sports are available from June to September, and the Beach Club offers pedaloes, sunbeds, towel service and a restaurant (this service is not provided by the hotel). There is a free shuttle service to and from the beach throughout the season.

Penguin Village - Penina Golf Resort’s unique facility for children - offers a range of activities including an adventure play area, swimming pool and slide, crèche, toys, arts and crafts materials and a Penguin Mac Restaurant, which is open during Penguin Village opening times. Bicycles, film shows and a bouncy castle are further facilities for children. The Village is open from Easter to the end of October, Christmas and New Year seasons, seven days a week meaning the children will be entertained and amused for hours!
