Discover Crete

One of the largest and most southerly of the Greek islands, Crete boasts sun-drenched summers, a warm, local welcome and a high standard of both luxury hotel and villa accommodation. It’s a stunning island bursting with olive and lemon groves, mile upon mile of sandy beaches, alluring shores, crystal clear turquoise waters, hidden coves and a diverse landscape that is just waiting to be discovered.

The pretty and unspoilt resort of Elounda, on the east coast of the island, offers the discerning customer refined and luxurious accommodation, with the majority of hotels and villas featuring their own private pool, an exceptional level of creature comforts and an array of leisure and dining facilities. Lazy days can be spent relaxing by the pool admiring the views out to the uninhabited, neighbouring island of Spinalonga and the Kolikithia Peninsula or taking to the Aegean Sea for some daytime island-hopping or water sports.

Relaxing evenings can be spent indulging in the exquisite cuisine of the hotel restaurants or taking a stroll into Elounda where you can enjoy a traditional Cretan meze and a glass of something chilled in one of the tavernas dotted around the harbour-side.

For those who like to get out and explore, this mesmerising island is rich in history, legend and myth with some superb ancient sites to discover and a whole host of Greek gods to reacquaint yourself with. Car hire is easily accessible offering you the freedom to discover Crete at your own pace, be it the archeological ruins at Knossos or travelling across the island for a hike through the Samaria Gorge.

The small yet popular resort of Aghios Nikolaos with its quaint harbour setting is only a short journey from Elounda and is the perfect place to sit back with a cool, refreshing drink and watch the world go by. This charming island enjoys a slow and steady pace of life where you can relax and unwind from the moment you arrive.
