No coastline in Europe can match the Algarve. It has over 100 miles of glorious beaches ranging from vast expanses of sand-dunes to stunning secluded coves formed by the soft coloured rock. This region of contrasting landscapes is further enhanced by the manicured golf courses, the fabulous villas of Quinta do Lago and the dramatic cliffs and lighthouse at Cape St Vincent.

Beyond the beaches and golf courses are the historic towns of Portimao, Silves and Lagos and are well worth a visit to experience traditional Portuguese architecture and culture. Alternatively, the beautiful countryside around Monchique provides the perfect setting for a picnic.

In the summer months, families and the more active can enjoy water sports, golf, tennis, horse riding and deep sea fishing. There is a fantastic choice of restaurants in which to enjoy traditional cuisine, including locally caught Sardines and grilled fish. The restaurants range from simple beach bars to sophisticated restaurants providing international cuisine alongside local fayre.

During the milder winter months, nearly 40 golf courses provide a perfect escape from the UK’s frozen or waterlogged golf courses with many hotels offering great deals for the golfer.

The Algarve boasts a fantastic Mediterranean climate with an average 3000 sunshine hours a year making it one of Europe’s sunniest places.

The summer months average 12 hours sunshine a day with temperatures peaking in July & August at 29°C with the Spring and Autumn months averaging a pleasant 18-22°C.

The Algarve’s new motorway allows faster access to the majority of the coastal areas however this is now a toll road.
